Injuries and health issues directly caused by the workplace, or, more specifically, the office environment, are a significant issue for workers and employers alike.

In 2013, 1.2 million people in the UK and just over 3 million in the U.S were suffering from an illness that they believed was caused or worsened by their current or former workplace, with the majority of these problems being caused by stress or musculoskeletal disorders. Perhaps even more staggering is the amount of lost work days due to work-related ill health and the profound economic impacts and a result.
