    Yes, recognizing employees can boost the productivity and employee engagement. But it will also decrease the overall motivation and teamwork. When I joined TechFusion, we had programs like employee of the month and customer satisfaction awards. These two programs were introduced by me and the management was so happy to accept this. We also used to give custom made trophies (http://www.houlthellewell.com/wp-content/uploads/product/223705311331617000CRY101.jpg ) for the employee of the year awards.     Employee Recognition Program

    In my opinion employee recognition is a way you will be letting your employees know, that management recognizes them, and help them in enhancing their skills.
